Coconut oil has been getting a lot of attention over the past year or so and for good reason. It has been shown to help speed up the metabolism and therefore help you burn fat. I'll let Authority Nutrition handle the details, but I totally agree with them.

How to do it: Instead of having milk and sugar in your coffee, have a teaspoon or two of coconut oil. It'll melt in. It might taste a little strange at first but think of the goodness that it will bring...Not only will it help to fight fat, but by not having milk and sugar in your coffee you'll be saving extra calories so it's a double win!

Note: You can use coconut oil in cooking, too. In fact, it has a higher melting point than other oils so is great when frying because it's less likely to burn which is bad for you if you eat food cooked in burned oil. Personally, I use coconut oil in my coffee and sometimes when cooking and for salads I use extra virgin olive oil.
