Tip #25 – Save Time and Reduce Your Waistline

Posted by

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. High intensity means it's hard and the interval bit means you don’t do it continuously. Which is just as well! HIIT is gaining in popularity and the latest research shows that this type of training delivers great results when it comes to burning fat and improving your cardiovascular fitness.

How to do it:

Instead of sitting on the exercise bike for 30 minutes try this instead:

1. Warm-up for eight minutes, gradually building up leg speed and resistance

2. For 20 seconds go as fast and hard as you possibly can

3. Rest for 10 seconds

4. Repeat steps two and three for a further eight times

This workout section of this exercise only lasts about four minutes. But to be honest, don't be surprised if you can't do all four minutes. It’s a tough challenge! You need to go flat out for those 20 seconds for it to be effective. But if you can only do two or three rounds that's ok. You will improve over time and gradually build up to do more rounds.
