Tip #21 – When is a Calorie not a Calorie?

Posted by

One problem with calorie counting is that not all calories are created equal. For example, you could eat

1000 calories from sweets or a 1000 from vegetables and the effects on your body would be quite

different. That's why I never count calories when I’m looking to lose weight and I recommend you do the

same. It's a very restrictive way of looking at things too, which means you’ll almost certainly fall off the

wagon at some stage and give up.

How to do it:

The first step is to make sure you’re eating the right foods. A good rule of thumb is that anything that

grows in the ground, or comes from a plant or was alive at some stage is good to eat. You want to eat

food that is as unprocessed and as close to its natural state as possible. Throw out those packets and jars

of pre-made sauces and use something more natural instead.

If you eat the right kinds of foods you won’t have to count calories to be healthy and stay in shape.

Eat as much fish, meat and vegetables as you like and you'll be looking and feeling great in no time.
